Olive Groves

From the Terre Caudine a quality oil

Terre Caudine extra virgin olive oil comes exclusively from the cultivation of olives produced by our olive groves in Sant'Agata de' Goti in the San Pietro district (Il Feudo area). The olive groves are about 200 meters above sea level at the foot of Mount Taburno in the Taburno - Camposauro Regional Park. The varieties of native cultivars of Sannio Beneventano are present; Ortice, Racciopella and Ortice. At the moment the olive groves have around 500 olive trees, half of which have been planted for around 10 years.

Ortolana

Also known as Melella and Bella di San Lorenzo Maggiore, it is widespread in the hilly area of ​​the Telesina Valley and is appreciated for the excellent organoleptic characteristics attributed by olive growers to the oil obtained from it. The plant has medium-high vigor and can even exceed 6 meters in height.

Ortice

Known with a great variety of synonyms (Olivona, Iessana, San Giorgio, Testicolo di Gallo, etc.) it is widespread almost exclusively in the Benevento area with greater concentration in the medium and high hill areas, where, although appreciated for the excellent characteristics of the 'oil, is also used as a table olive.

Racciopella

Racciopella is a cultivar widespread throughout the Samnite area with a great variety of synonyms. It is a very productive variety and constant in production. In fact, generally it does not alternate, but in unfavorable years there is an early ripening of the few fruits produced that fall.
